Job description
A Florida-licensed pharmacist is needed to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital located in Sarasota, FL. This role is a contract position ideal for pharmacists seeking a hands-on leadership opportunity in a focused clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the sole full-time pharmacist managing all pharmacy operations
Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
Oversee medication dispensing, distribution, and inventory control
Collaborate with healthcare staff to optimize patient medication therapy
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to pharmacy activities
Lead quality assurance and safety initiatives within the pharmacy department
Qualifications: Active Florida Pharmacist license required
Experience managing pharmacy operations, ideally in a hospital or clinical environment
Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, medication safety, and clinical pharmacology
Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
Excellent communication and organizational skills
