Job description
A rewarding opportunity for a licensed pharmacist in California offers the chance to support a diverse patient population across both acute and long-term care settings. This contract position involves working in a facility that serves 60 acute care beds and over 100 long-term care beds, providing comprehensive pharmacy services essential to patient health.
Location:
Solvang, CA
Schedule: Variable days and afternoons
Four 10-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities: Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety
Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow
Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff for optimal patient care
Manage pharmacokinetics to tailor medication regimens
Utilize the Altera Sunrise system (training provided for this unique IT platform)
Desired Experience and Qualifications: Current California pharmacist license
Some recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Ability to adapt to a new pharmacy IT system with training
Strong communication and supervisory skills
