Job description
Join a dynamic outpatient pharmacy team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a hospital-affiliated setting. This pharmacist role involves managing prescription fulfillment and verification while ensuring quality oversight of pharmacy technicians. The position offers a day-shift schedule with meaningful patient engagement through counseling on prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately fill and verify prescriptions in a timely manner
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to maintain operational efficiency
Provide expert counseling to patients regarding their medications and addressing questions or concerns
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies
Utilize Cerner pharmacy information system for medication management and record keeping
Desired Experience and Qualifications: Valid California pharmacist license
Experience working in a retail or outpatient pharmacy environment
Strong communication skills to effectively counsel and educate patients
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, preferably Cerner
Location and Schedule: Based in a hospital-affiliated outpatient pharmacy in Willits, CA
Day shift hours to support work-life balance
This position is available for a contract duration of approximately 16 weeks or longer, starting as soon as possible. Ideal candidates will be motivated to contribute expertise in an outpatient setting and enhance patient outcomes through comprehensive pharmaceutical care.
