Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist Accept and dispense prescription medications.
Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law.
Ensure prescribed medicines are suitable for patients.
Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients.
Advise patients about medicines, including dosage and potential side effects.
Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications.
Offer services such as smoking cessation and cholesterol management.
Educate patients on handling medical devices like glucose meters.
Compound medications for external or internal use.
Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
Identify and communicate drug-related problems with physicians.
Requirements of the Pharmacist Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
