Job description
A central inpatient pharmacy requires a skilled Pharmacist to support clinical operations at a small 40-bed hospital in northern central Wisconsin. This role offers a flexible and varied schedule option, perfect for professionals seeking dynamic work environments with diverse patient care responsibilities.
Location: Northern Central Wisconsin (Wisconsin Rapids area)
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks minimum)
Start: ASAP
Schedule Options:
Four 10-hour shifts per week (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), rotating weekends
Alternatively, a 7 days on / 7 days off day shift block schedule
Responsibilities: Manage multiple concurrent duties in a central inpatient pharmacy setting
Verify EPIC medication orders accurately and efficiently
Review and check technician work to ensure compliance and safety
Respond to pharmacist phone calls and provide clinical guidance
Prepare and dispense inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications, including chemotherapy
Handle inpatient unit dose medications and outpatient chemotherapy administration
Support diverse clinical areas including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and surgery cases
Manage medication distribution for an inpatient census averaging 30 to 40 patients
Desired Experience: Licensed Pharmacist with inpatient pharmacy experience
Proficient in EPIC or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Experience with chemotherapy preparation and oncology pharmacy services a plus
