Overview
Pharmacy Director job at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Aiken, SC. Aiken Regional Medical Centers is a 273‑bed acute care facility located in Aiken, South Carolina, ranked a top hospital by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia. Services include emergency care, orthopedics, maternity and behavioral health.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the Pharmacy Department, including supervising technical/clinical staff, performing administrative duties, preparing and maintaining operating and capital budgets, and demonstrating expertise in clinical pharmacy practice to provide pharmaceutical care in the acute care setting.
Job Duties
Develops, implements, and achieves business goals by effectively planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all pharmacy service programs.
Manages drug utilization and medication use processes, including prescribing, dispensing, administering, managing clinical programs, and monitoring patient outcomes to ensure patient safety.
Prepares and manages departmental budget, responsible for expense and revenue performance.
Monitors and controls purchasing and inventory management processes.
Maintains awareness of developments in pharmacy and health care that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into practice.
Participates in quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department.
Collects data, conducts inspections, and maintains logs and other documentation as assigned.
Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel, verifies daily activities of pharmacy technicians, and verifies the accuracy of all orders, IV admixtures, and chemotherapy prepared by the technician.
Supports the pharmacy's pharmacoeconomic efforts by reviewing the use of targeted medications for compliance with current pharmacoeconomic programs.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Pharm.D. required; completion of residency preferred. 3–5 years’ experience as Director of Pharmacy. Current licensed pharmacist in South Carolina. Knowledge of pharmacy systems.
