Pharmacy Financial Coordinator / Prior Authorization SpecialistPharmacy Financial Coordinator / Prior Authorization Specialist – Edmond, OK Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Early FridaysOur healthcare partner in Edmond, Oklahoma is growing and actively hiring a Pharmacy Financial Coordinator / Prior Authorization Specialist to support their expanding pharmacy and clinical team.This role focuses on prior authorizations, pharmacy benefits verification, insurance coordination, and patient financial assistance to ensure patients receive the medications prescribed by their providers.If you have experience with pharmacy billing, prior authorizations, insurance verification, or medication access coordination, this is a great opportunity to join a collaborative healthcare organization that values strong processes and patient care.This is a full-time, permanent position — not a contract role.Location: Edmond, OK (onsite) Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Position Type: Full-TimeWhy Candidates Love This RoleConsistent weekday schedule with early FridaysStable full-time healthcare position (not contract)Work directly with providers and pharmacy teamsOpportunity to develop deeper experience in pharmacy prior authorizations and medication accessCollaborative team environment with strong workflow processesWhat You’ll Be DoingThis role plays a key part in helping patients successfully access their prescribed medications.Daily responsibilities may include:Verifying pharmacy insurance benefits and eligibilitySubmitting and tracking prior authorizations for medicationsFollowing up with insurance companies and PBMs regarding authorization statusCommunicating authorization approvals, denials, or next steps with patientsAssisting patients with copay assistance programs and financial support optionsTroubleshooting insurance claim issues or pharmacy rejectionsResearching payer guidelines, formularies, and medication coverage policiesEnsuring medications approved through authorization are successfully processed by pharmaciesResolving assigned tasks and documentation within the Electronic Health Record systemCollaborating with providers and clinic staff to ensure a smooth medication access processWhat We’re Looking ForPreferred Experience1–2 years of experience in prior authorizations, pharmacy billing, medical billing, or insurance verificationExperience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial pharmacy benefit plansFamiliarity with pharmacy claim rejections and medication authorization workflowsUnderstanding of formularies, step therapy, and medication coverage requirementsTechnical SkillsExperience using CoverMyMeds or similar prior authorization platforms preferredExperience working in EHR systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityAdditional QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPharmacy technician experience or certification is helpful but not requiredStrong communication and patient service skillsAbility to type approximately 50 WPMWork EnvironmentFast-paced healthcare settingFrequent computer and data entry workAbility to sit for extended periods while reviewing documentation and insurance informationOccasional standing, walking, or bending throughout the workdayIf you have experience with prior authorizations, pharmacy benefits, insurance coordination, or medical billing, this could be a great opportunity to grow your career while helping patients access important medications.About Our PartnerThis position is with one of ImpactKare’s long-standing healthcare partners, a highly respected multispecialty organization committed to delivering patient-centered care across Oklahoma.
