We are committed to serving the community and treat our patients as family.The Cleveland Clinic Department of Pharmacy aspires to provide advanced educational knowledge to prepare Student Pharmacists for their post-graduation goals. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will develop the skills necessary for ensuring proper patient care and support. You will gain hands-on experience in patient consultation, technical functions, medication therapy management, specialty medication services, technology development and quality assurance. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to start your journey as a Pharmacist within an innovative healthcare setting.This is an intern position. A caregiver in this role will be required to work every 3rd weekend during the school year. For summer expectations, every other weekend will be required. 1st and 2nd shifts will be the primary coverage as early as 7:00am and as late as 11:30pm. 3rd shift is also available for those as well. Training will be held 2-4 weeks.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related issues.Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Program meeting education requirements to qualify for an Intern License in the State of Ohio OR international pharmacy experience meeting the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern LicenseCurrent State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before hirePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:1st-year student preferredPhysical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform job while standing, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
