Pharmacy InternPharmacy InternLocation: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. CarelonRx pairs a strong, clinical-first lens with deep pharmacy expertise to create solutions that improve outcomes, control costs, and enhance each member's health.The Pharmacy Intern will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.How you will make an impact:Assists in developing and configuring prior authorization decision trees in the workflow toolParticipates in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists of prior authorization decision trees within the workflow toolAssists in implementing clinical programs within the prior authorization spaceVerifies member, provider, and drug information and inputs data for the prior authorization pharmacists.Educates providers on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.Processes prior authorization requests from physicians' offices and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements; inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.Minimum requirements:Ability to work 20 per week for the duration of the internshipCurrently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university.A current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required.Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:1st and 2nd year PharmD students are preferred.Prior experience working in pharmacy retail strongly preferredFamiliarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Excellent Communication skills, both written and oralExcellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skillsExcellent Public Speaking and Presentation skillsJob Level: Non-Management Non-ExemptWorkshift: Job Family: ADM > Intern
