Job description
A behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This newly established facility is a collaborative effort between two major healthcare organizations and requires a dedicated Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients in a behavioral health setting.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment, supporting a critical area of patient care. The position is initially a 13-week contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, daytime hours, providing a consistent routine.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations and staff as the Pharmacist-in-Charge
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies
Manage medication distribution and inventory control
Collaborate closely with clinical teams to optimize patient medication therapies
Provide leadership and training to pharmacy staff
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
Qualifications and Experience: Valid pharmacy license and credentials in Virginia
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager or working PIC, preferably in a behavioral health or similar hospital setting
Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulations, and best practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to start immediately and commit to the contract duration

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shifts
