Job description

nRESPONSIBILITIES

nnnPromote trust and respect among associates

n

nnCreate an environment that allows customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store

n

nnCommunicate effectively both written and verbally, with customers and store personnel

n

nnPossess knowledge of the pharmaceutical products and supplies kept in the department to be competent making recommendations to patients and prescribers

n

nnReceive verbal RX orders and accurately reduce to writing in adherence with State and Federal laws and regulations

n

nnInterpret, fill/refill, label and bag prescription orders completely and accurately

n

nnEvaluate appropriateness of RX orders with consideration to patient safety, and legal requirements

n

nnProvide drug counseling with customers and prescribers

n

nnBe familiar with and third party billing and procedures, facilitate charge for customer

n

nnMaintain accurate records—including insurance—properly receive RX information from customer, properly and accurately deliver RX to customer, assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations

n

nnMake phone calls to prescribers and prescribers’ office staff

n

nnDemonstrate ability to accurately and efficiently utilize RX computer system

n

nnMaintain accurate inventory, reconciliation and research of controlled substances in compliance with the record keeping of the controlled substance account

n

nnActively promote proper immunizations to patients and provide them safely and effectively.

n

nnEngage in all clinical activities for which they have received appropriate training

n

nnDelegate monitoring and ordering supplies; properly stock incoming orders

n

nnCompare and check incoming orders

n

nnAssist with supervision and delegation of responsibilities to associates

n

nnFile prescription orders and records in accordance with state and federal regulations and procedures

n

nnHelp resolve conflicts and problems with customers and personnel in the absence of department manager

n

nnRun, review and interpret reports

n

nnOversee administrative needs in the department in the absence of the department manager

n

nnNotify management of customer or employee accidents

n

nnReport all pharmacy incidents or miss-fills to store management and Sedgwick within the proper timeframes as presented in the Corporate Accuracy Policy

n

nnReport all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud

n

nnAbility to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs

n

nnMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

n

n nQUALIFICATIONS Minimum

nnnPossess a current Pharmacist license in the state where employment is sought, with no stipulations or Board ordered restrictions

n

nnGraduate of a US School of Pharmacy or have passed a foreign equivalency exam

n

nnSuccessfully passed the NAPLEX exam

n

nnAbility to work at various locations

n

nnAbility to travel independently

n

n nDesired
