Job description

Accountable for all aspects of pharmacy practice, within the limits of state and federal laws and corporate policies. Manage and maximize the financial performance of the pharmacy department by monitoring the pharmacy budget, minimizing or altogether avoiding unauthorized overtime, performing necessary pharmacy staff training and development, providing excellence in customer service, managing prescription pricing and generic utilization, controlling pharmacy inventory, and providing/implementing/participating in corporate approved clinical services. RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform all functions of a staff pharmacist and act as a role model for the pharmacy team; appropriately handle customer complaints and direct workflow to reduce customer wait times

nnnDevelop, implement, supervise, and promote the sales plan and other sales initiatives as developed by the division pharmacy department

nnPerform all the duties required and expected of a registered pharmacist in the state of employment and responsible for following all legal and company requirements

n

nnDirect the pharmacy team to achieve warehouse utilization goals, avoid unnecessary overstock, reduce the number of fill on-arrival prescriptions, and ensure that all staff members are trained, aware of and follow proper ordering and inventory record keeping procedures

n

nnComply with all corporate mandated controlled substance operating procedures

n

nnMonitor third-party or insurance profitability; handle third-party problems, rejections, and audits in a timely fashion

n

nnSchedule all pharmacy staff members in a manner to help control or avoid unnecessary labor costs

n

nnMaintain all pharmacy records required by state and federal laws and company policies

n

nnDirect pharmacy to meet budgeted labor, volume, inventory and sales goals

n

nnPerform effective detailing visiting local physicians and other community targets

n

nnPromote, implement, and participate in public health initiatives and disease state management services

n

nnTravel independently as needed to support business needs

n

nnSupervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide direct feedback to direct reports

n

nnMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

n nQUALIFICATIONS * Minimum *

nBachelors Degree Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. School of Pharmacy

n2+ years related retail experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

nMinimum 21 years of age

nParticipation in clinical programs following company sponsored training

nAbility and willingness to continue education as necessary

nAbility to preserve confidentiality of information

nCommitment to providing excellent customer service

nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence

nAbility to read and interpret prescriptions and documents

nProven leadership skills

nLicense must be in good standing

nnDesired *

n nRelevant Pharmacy Board Certification(s)

nEquivalent combination of education and experience in business management
