nThe Pharmacy Manager is responsible to supervise all staff personnel activities. Enforces all pharmacy departmental policies and procedures. Helps develop departmental procedures with assistance from pharmacy staff members and personnel from other departments to ensure optimal delivery of pharmacy services. Manages site-specific pharmacy information systems. Performs daily pharmacist activities as needed. Performs duties as assigned by the Administrator.
nJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
nnnPerforms daily pharmacist activities as needed.

nnAssures that staff completes daily responsibilities accurately and efficiently.
n
nnCoordinates personnel scheduling.
n
nnAssists in departmental human resources activities: Hiring new or replacement personnel, Assuring that new department employees complete hospital and department orientation, Assuring that employees maintain competency and continuing education, Assuring that employees demonstrate/model the hospitals core values and customer service behaviors in interactions with all customers (internal and external), Counseling employees regarding their work performance, Completing required performance evaluations.

nnOrganizes/conducts staff meetings.
n
nnDevelops departmental budgets, goals and objectives and investigates potential budget issues.
n
nnResolves problems, situations or questions concerning medication therapy or logistics between Pharmacy and other hospital departments.
n
nnAssists in developing departmental policies and procedures.
n
nnResponsible for submitting payroll in accordance with Network policies and procedures.
n
nnCoordinates, maintains, and troubleshoots site-specific pharmacy information systems.
n
nnOversees procurement, storage, reconciliation controlled substance systems. Reports to DEA as required.
n
nnAssists with review of pharmacy-related patient and family educational materials.
n
nnOversees and coordinates site-specific MEDS bedside delivery service assuring adequate staffing and training, timeliness and accuracy, and service excellence.
n
nnReports and tracks medication errors. Takes appropriate measures to prevent errors and takes measures to correct.
n
nnServes as a medication resource to patients and other departments. Assures patient medication related counseling is offered.

nnAssures that referral tracking data is maintained accurately and completely.
n
nnAssists in the development of and oversees new projects and services.

n nPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
nExertional activity - Occasionally lift and/or carry 50 lbs. Frequently lift and/or carry 25 lbs. Being able to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds is often more critical that being able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. Stand and/or walk at least 6 hours in an 8-hour work day. Very few medium occupations in the national economy are performed primarily in a sitting position.
nNonexertional activity - Stooping (bending at the waist) and crouching (stooping and bending at the knee) -required frequently in most medium jobs. Handling (grasping) - required frequently in most medium jobs. Fingering (fine manipulation) - required only occasionally in most medium jobs. Important: The functional capacity to perform medium work includes the functional capacity to perform sedentary and light work. Frequent fingering and handling. Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 35 pounds. Occasionally stooping and bending. Rarely crouching and reaching above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequency. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision, and visual monotony.
nEDUCATION:
nB.S., Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
nTRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
n1-2 years supervisory/management experience.
