Position Summary
Columbus Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and plays a vital role in providing quality patient care through accurate specimen collection and processing.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Primarily scheduled: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, or
1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Occasional overnight shifts from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Every third weekend evening
Two overnight holidays per year
Responsibilities Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using age-appropriate techniques
Process and prepare specimens for testing
Utilize computer systems for test ordering and information lookup
Answer phones, take orders, and assist with problem-solving activities
Operate point-of-care testing devices
Perform other duties as assigned
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required
Medical knowledge preferred
Previous phlebotomy experience preferred; training will be provided
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment
