Job description
PhlebotomistLabcorp is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support its Durham Patient Service Center. This individual will perform blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, punctual, comfortable with difficult draws, and able to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and a positive patient experience.Required Skills & Experience Must-Haves:High school diploma or GEDPhlebotomy certification, completed phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experienceMinimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experienceExperience performing venipuncture on patients of all age groupsExperience with a variety of vein types, including difficult drawsBasic computer skills and comfort with data entryReliable transportationAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAble to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to pass a standardized color blindness testNice to Have Skills & Experience Plusses:Strong pediatric phlebotomy experienceExperience working in a high-volume Patient Service CenterExperience supporting 100+ patients dailyDay-to-Day:Perform venipuncture and capillary collections for patients of all age groups, including pediatricsCollect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol testing, and other servicesPrepare specimens for testing and analysisMaintain accurate patient and specimen documentationEnter patient information accurately and efficientlyProcess billing information and collect payments when requiredPerform administrative and clerical duties as neededSupport a high-volume PSC averaging 100-130 patients per dayTravel to additional sites if needed
