PhlebotomistWork Schedule and Shift PremiumsFull Time | Monday-Thursday, 8am - 6pm | Including some weekend and holiday hours on a rotationSaturday premium is an additional $2.00/hourBenefitsInsurance: medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disabilityPaid Time Off: vacation and holidaysRetirement: 403(b) with matchEducation assistance and continuing education - many courses offered on-site at the hospitalRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institutionGraduate of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred but not required. ASCP certification desirablePrevious phlebotomy experience in healthcare setting preferred but not requiredBLS certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)ResponsibilitiesUses appropriate techniques and procedures to obtain blood samples by venipuncture and skin puncture. Instruct patients on proper collection procedures for urine collection, stool collection, and other miscellaneous collectionsCorrectly labels all specimens and checks for qualityAssumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of patientsMaintains laboratory operating proceduresOrders and distributes supplies as needed along with notifying appropriate individual when supplies are lowSpecimens that are not picked up by a Hillsdale Hospital Courier will need to be transported to Hillsdale Hospital at the end of their shift.
