This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and gain extensive experience!Requirements:Valid CPT LicenseAbility to work any shift, any day of the week from 4am-11pm6+ months of inpatient or outpatient blood draw experienceWhat's in it for you:Gain experience with a leading hospital in CaliforniaWork with all agesFast-paced work environmentJob DescriptionThe phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood in a fast paced environment, tagging each sample and then working closely with the lab to make sure that the proper samples are delivered for each patient. The successful candidate will also deliver excellent patient service, answer patient questions, act as a resource for patient information and strengthen the relationship between the patient and our entire medical facility.Preparing patients before drawing bloodExplaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the processFollowing all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areasGathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubesVerifying patient information and labeling blood samples properlyAccurately updating patient information in the organization databaseHelping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood drawsWorking with supervising physicians and following their directions at all timesReceives specimens for other cases when delivered to the LaboratoryOther duties as assignedWork SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Harbor City, CaliforniaWork EnvironmentYou will work in a fast-paced hospital and laboratory environment that serves a diverse patient population across all ages. Shifts may include 1st and 2nd shift on any day of the week, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The setting emphasizes teamwork, respect, and continuous learning, with an expectation that you will earn trust by being dependable, willing to help, and able to retain and apply training effectively. The work involves standard clinical and laboratory equipment used for phlebotomy, specimen collection, and data entry, with a focus on maintaining a safe, organized, and professional clinical environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Harbor City, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
