Location: Winsted, CT
Shift: Monday - Friday | 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM (EST)
Duration: 2+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Pay Rate: $17 - $21/hour (Based on Experience)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our team in Winsted, CT. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting and processing high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and a commitment to patient satisfaction and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Perform blood collection procedures accurately and safely following established protocols.
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing.
Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing concerns professionally.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required.
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
Complete daily activities accurately and within established timelines.
Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.
Work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Experience collecting blood samples from pediatric and geriatric patients.
Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
