Job description

Phlebotomist PositionWe are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will collect blood and other specimens from patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations while providing excellent customer service. You will work in a medium-sized patient service center alongside a small team and play an important role in ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing.What You'll DoPerform blood draws using straight and butterfly needlesCollect additional specimens, such as urine and fecal samples, when neededVerify patient information and physician ordersLabel, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and prepare specimens for shipmentEnsure specimens are stored and transported according to established proceduresMaintain accurate records and documentationAnswer patient questions and explain collection procedures in a professional, compassionate mannerFollow all OSHA, safety, and compliance guidelinesAssist with daily laboratory operations and attend required trainingsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAt least 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a hospital, laboratory, or high-volume patient settingStrong venipuncture skills and experience with blood collection proceduresBasic Microsoft Office skillsPhlebotomy certification if required by your stateWork EnvironmentPatient Service Center (PSC) settingMedium-sized locationWork alongside approximately 2-3 team membersServe patients of all ages, from children to older adultsExpect a fast-paced environment with approximately 60-80 patients per dayStanding for most of the shiftIncludes one 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaksTrainingComprehensive onboarding and training during your first two weeksIdeal CandidateComfortable working in a high-volume environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent customer service and communication skillsReliable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a teamKey Skills: Phlebotomy, Venipuncture, Blood Draws, Specimen Processing, Patient Care, Customer Service, Medical Laboratory Procedures.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Ashland, KY.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
