Job Description Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client's healthcare team in Fairbanks, AK.

Schedule: 8 AM-5 PM
Location: Fairbanks, AK
Job Type: Travel contract
Contract Length: 14 Week/s
Pay Range: $19-$20/hr
Covering PSC location with one other phleb. Pedi and geri experience preferred. Will be drawing about 25 patients a day and will be registering patients along with specimen processing.
Weekly gross pay is based on a taxable hourly wage and daily lodging and meals & incidentals stipends based on USA GSA guidelines.
Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.
Position Responsibilities:
Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Properly explains, in a clear but courteous manner, the venipuncture (blood draw) process and/or other specimen collection (e.g., urine or faecal) as required.
Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in.
