Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job Type: 3-Month Contract
Location: Gardendale, AL 35071
Shift: Rotating shifts, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Gardendale, AL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering excellent patient care. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
Key Responsibilities: Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures.
Collect and process both clinical and forensic specimens accurately.
Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing.
Ensure accurate documentation and maintain required records.
Provide exceptional customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
Explain collection procedures and help patients feel comfortable throughout the process.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Follow company policies, quality standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity goals.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required).
Experience performing pediatric and geriatric blood draws.
Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of phlebotomy experience.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
