Expected pay for certified Phlebotomist II is $18.27 - $20.29/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.Expected pay for uncertified Phlebotomist I is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.OverviewThe Phlebotomist II obtains blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures from any location where patients may be present for laboratory testing. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin sites, and performs venipuncture and skin punctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports same to laboratory for analysis. This position works independently and as a part of a team, performs clerical and/or computer duties associated with the laboratory, and provides timely specimen collection and routing of laboratory specimens. Maintains professional relationship with patients, staff, and physicians. Duties may vary by assigned area and/or shift. In the absence of a Lead, the Phlebotomist II may assist department leadership by performing essential lead role responsibilities. May assist in determining work priorities, may prepare daily work assignments, and may serve as a resource person for personnel resolving operational and patientcare problems.This is more than a phlebotomy job—it's a commitment to service, teamwork, and accountability. We're seeking reliable, patient ? focused team players who enjoy a fast-paced work environment, supporting coworkers, and upholding OSF's standard of respectful, high ? quality care.QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High School/GEDLicenses/Certifications:PBT (ASCP)Other skills/knowledge:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Associate or bachelor's degree in a science related area.License/Certifications:CPR Certification through the American Heart Association.Experience:6 months in a team orientated environment or customer service role.Experience working with an electronic medical record system, such as Epic.Maintain composure while working under pressure; ability to perform job duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.Critical thinking, problem solving skills, decisive judgment and follow through.Other skills/knowledge:Positive, professional attitude and demeanor.OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
