PhlebotomistLooking for a role where your work makes a difference in your community?LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for a friendly, dependable, and team-oriented individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist in The Villages, FL.In this role, you'll work directly with blood donors and help create a positive donation experience while supporting LifeSouth's mission of providing a safe blood supply to the communities we serve.Our BenefitsGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO) planMedical, dental, and vision insurances available to full-time employees the first of the month after 60 daysSupplemental insurances including life, cancer, accident, and disabilityAccess to mental wellness resources and counseling through telehealthFree basic life insurance for full-time employeesHealth Savings Account (HSA) with employer match each pay periodEmployer funded retirement plan for vested employees & 403b offeredAccess to wages prior to pay dayWhat You'll DoProvide a welcoming, positive experience for blood donors while helping support a lifesaving missionPerform phlebotomy and collect blood from donors in accordance with LifeSouth procedures and safety standardsConduct donor screenings, including interviews and physical assessments, to help determine eligibilityRegister donors and accurately document information throughout the donation processLearn to operate automated blood collection equipment and perform apheresis procedures once trainedEnsure donors are accurately identified at every step of the donation processEducate donors about donation options and help identify opportunities for automated donations when appropriateSupport donor recruitment and retention by encouraging future donations and assisting with reschedulingWork closely with your team to create a safe, efficient and positive donation experienceWhat You'll NeedHigh school diploma or GEDA valid driver's license and the ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth's driver eligibility requirementsFlexibility to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidaysStrong customer service and communication skills with the ability to make donors feel comfortable and cared forA team-oriented mindset and willingness to support coworkers in a fast-paced environmentAbility to follow detailed procedures and maintain accuracy while performing multiple responsibilitiesAbility to read, understand and follow written procedures and instructionsPrevious customer service experience is preferredCDL holders are preferred, with additional compensation availableWho We AreLifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.Our MissionTo provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.This is a full-time position. Starting salary range is $16.50 - $18.15 an hour. Criminal background check and drug screen required upon conditional offer of hire.
