Phlebotomist I
Ride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist I to support our client's healthcare facility in Melrose MA 02176. Schedule: First shift 8:00 am - 4:00 PM/Eastern time. Location: Melrose MA 02176. Job Type: local contract. Contract Length: 6 months + Extension. Pay Range: $17 to $21/hr.
Phlebotomy Certificate Required. Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles.
Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols.
Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates.
Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training.
Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
Valid state phlebotomy certification where required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
