Job description
Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in New Paltz, NY (12561). This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!

Specific Duties:
Draw blood from patients across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric populations.
Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen labeling and barcoding.
Process laboratory specimens, including centrifuging, pouring off, and accessioning.
Prepare packing lists and package specimens for shipment to reference laboratories.
Ensure specimens are stored and transported at the appropriate temperatures.
Follow established phlebotomy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Maintain accuracy, specimen integrity, and patient safety throughout the collection and processing procedures.
Requirements :
Minimum of 1 year of preferred experience
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Phlebotomy Certification preferred
Current BLS certification (through an approved American Heart Association Training Centre or the
Proven good communication and customer service skills
What skills/attributes are nice to have, and will set a candidate apart?
Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other healthcare software.
Knowledge of medical terminology required
Additional Information:
Location: New Paltz, NY 12561
Job Type: 3+ months contract-to-hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm closed for lunch 12:30pm-1:30pm
Office Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Pay Range: $20-$23/hr. on W2
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
