LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, and goal-driven Phlebotomist to join our team in Opelika, AL. In this role, you'll play a vital part in the blood donation process by ensuring donors have a safe, positive, and professional donation experience while helping provide lifesaving blood products to patients in need.What You'll DoPerform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Collect blood using automated instruments (apheresis) once training is completedRegister donors in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS)Determine donor eligibility through the donor interview and physical assessment processAccurately identify donors throughout every step of the donation processAssist with donor recruitment, tele-recruitment, and donor rescheduling effortsEducate and convert donors to automated collection technology when appropriateMaintain compliance with LifeSouth policies, procedures, and quality standardsProvide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customersWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or GEDAbility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidaysValid driver's license and ability to maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirementsProficiency with computer software applications and technologyStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent customer service and teamwork skillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as procedure manualsPrevious customer service experience preferredCDL holders preferred; additional compensation availableWhat We OfferGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO) planMedical, dental, and vision insurance available to full-time employeesMedical premium discount based on rate of payAccess to mental wellness resources and telehealth counseling servicesFree basic life insurance for full-time employeesHealth Savings Account (HSA) with employer match each pay periodEmployer-funded retirement plan for vested employees and 403(b) retirement savings planAccess to earned wages prior to paydayCDL bonus programCollections bonus programHoliday premium pay on certain holidaysLifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.This is a full-time position. Starting salary range is $15.50 - $17.05 an hour. Criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen required upon conditional offer of hire.
