Phlebotomist
This is a contract job opportunity. Position: Phlebotomist Location: Portland OR Schedule: Hours between 6am-6 pm Float positions, hours vary depending on the staffing need. M-F Projected duration: 3 months Job code: CVDJP Benefits are available requires pediatric and geriatric experience This is a float job. Float to surrounding areas within Portland, Gresham and as far south as Tualatin Requires a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Mileage expenses paid.
Description: Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations. Position Responsibilities: Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples High School Diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of experience
