We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Centerpoint Medical Center which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.The Laboratory Phlebotomist performs collections of blood samples and specimens efficiently and appropriately following hospital and department standards and policies. Under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, the Phlebotomist may also performs routine technical functions, CLIA waived analyses and quality control. Join our team where your commitment to service, safety and professionalism will contribute to a positive patient experience.What you will do in this role:Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.Draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heel sticks or venipuncture and collect other specimens as required.Label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.What qualifications will you need:Graduate of Phlebotomy Course requiredAdditional 1 year of experience preferred.Hospital experienced highly desired and preferred.Minimum 8-10 sticks/hour.If phlebotomy program has not been completed, then must have one-year experience in a medical laboratory required or college course work in biological/chemical sciences.Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.Phlebotomy certification preferred.Centerpoint Medical Center, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
