Job description
PhlebotomistUnder the supervision of the Laboratory Director and the Laboratory Manager, the Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples using venipuncture or skin techniques and obtaining other specimens for ordered diagnostic studies. Also responsible for performing assigned waived testing, charting and faxing all types of patient reports.QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:1-3 years in a clinical laboratory.PREFERRED: LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:Phlebotomy certification.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge and skills to perform venipunctures, specimen processing and communication with customers.ABOUT OAKBEND:OakBend Medical Center is an independent hospital providing exceptional and compassionate care to patients and the community since 1950.
