Phlebotomist PRNLast year our HCA Healthcare colleagues invested over 156,000 hours volunteering in our communities. As a Phlebotomist PRN with Memorial Satilla Health you can be a part of an organization that is devoted to giving back!Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. Assembles equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection tubes, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray according to requirements for specified tests. Verifies and records patient identity and converses with patient to explain procedures and allay fear of procedure.What will you do in this role:Performs specimen collection to the extent determined by laboratory section competencyCommunicates technical information to medical and lay personsInstructs patients on proper specimen collection proceduresReviews various laboratory reports for completeness and takes measures to remediate any deficiencies foundUtilizes appropriate age related criteria for communication comfort and safety of patientsWhat qualifications you will need:Licensure/Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy certificate preferredEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: One-year hospital experience (including venipuncture experience) preferred.Familiarity with a hospital laboratory is desired.
