About the job Phlebotomist - Richmond VEOC
This private endocrinology practice is looking for a highly-organized, outgoing and friendly person to serve as its Phlebotomist. This position will be responsible for all blood draws and specimen preparation to support our in-office lab including:
• Doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures
• Setting patients at ease and explaining clearly and courteously the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing)
• Packaging specimens for transport when needed
• Properly storing specimen samples
• Answering telephone calls, reading laboratory results upon inquiry
• Performing data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintaining patient and specimen information logs
• Providing superior customer service to all patients
• Understanding and complying with OSHA regulations
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Applicants must have:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency, preferred
• Previous experience as a phlebotomist
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication and organizational skills
