Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.Weekend Premium Pay (5/6 Program): Employees participating in the 5/6 Program earn a 20% premium on their base hourly rate for all hours worked between 7:00 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Monday. Hours worked outside of the designated weekend period are paid at the regular base rate.3rd Shift Differential: Employees working 3rd shift receive an additional $2.25 per hour for all eligible hours worked.OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY: Weekends Only The Phlebotomist obtains blood and other specimens from inpatients, outpatients, ED patients, extended care facility patients, physician office patients, clinic patients, and any other offsite location patients for laboratory testing according to licensed physician's or provider's orders. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin sites, and performs venipuncture and skin punctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports same to laboratory for analysis. Performs clerical and/or computer duties associated with the laboratory. Duties may vary by assigned area and/or shift.This is more than a phlebotomy job—it's a commitment to service, teamwork, and accountability. We're seeking reliable, patient-focused team players who enjoy a fast-paced work environment, supporting coworkers, and upholding OSF's standard of respectful, high-quality care.Must be available for 6 full weeks of orientation and training.QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School/GEDOther skills/knowledge:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:Completion of formal structured phlebotomy program OR 3 months' full-time phlebotomy experience or equivalent 6 months customer service experience.License/Certifications:CPR Certification.Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT).OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
