Phlebotomy TechnicianCity/State: White Plains, New YorkDepartment: Lab Phlebotomy_1Work Shift: DayWork Days: DAYS VARYScheduled Hours: 3 AM-11 AMHours Per Pay Period: 75Pay Rate/Range: $ -$ /HRFor positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.Essential FunctionsUnderstands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.Demonstrate knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures.Utilizes AIDET and Patient Experience measures during patient interactionsAttend staff meetings and in-servicesComplete competency requirements on an annual basisFollows all infection control and prevention policiesDemonstrate ability to maintain a safe environment and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to obtain blood or other specimens using varied technique on all age groupsProficient in the use of the laboratory information system and hospital information system (where applicable)Maintain supplies in a neat and orderly mannerMaintain a professional appearance and attitudeMake appropriate decisions independentlyPrioritize workloadInform management of problemsMaintain confidentiality of patient dataCross training in ATC, MLW, Phlebotomy/AccessioningPerforms EKGs in Presurgical testing location.Performs all other related duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Required orGED1-3 years Previous phlebotomy experience preferred Preferred4-6 years Previous experience in a healthcare environment RequiredPerforms EKGs PreferredBasic Computer Skills (Low proficiency)Performs EKGs (Low proficiency)Certified Phlebotomy Technician - AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIANS (ASPT) Preferred orCPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Health career Association Preferred orNCCT-Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Center for Competency Testing PreferredWhite Plains Hospital Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
