Join UPMC's Outpatient Therapy Team!Take advantage of this flexible opportunity to support multiple outpatient locations across UPMC, including UPMC Muncy. This is a Monday–Friday, casual/as-needed position.In this role, you will provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, while supporting patient care, departmental operations, and a positive clinical environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver physical therapy treatments according to established plans of careMonitor patient response and communicate needed adjustments to the supervising Physical TherapistAssist Physical Therapists with patient assessments across all age groups (pediatric–geriatric)Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services providedEnsure documentation meets organizational, regulatory, and co-signature requirementsSupport safe patient transport as neededMaintain a clean, organized treatment environmentAssist with clerical duties and direct therapy volunteersParticipate in staff meetings, in-services, and department initiativesRotate across treatment areas or locations as needed to support operationsMeet or exceed productivity and documentation standardsProvide and seek feedback to support continuous improvement and team performanceClinical ExpectationsDeliver skilled, evidence-based therapeutic interventions within PTA scope of practiceAdapt treatments based on patient response and medical status changesRecognize when care plan adjustments are needed and notify the Physical Therapist promptlyProvide care that reflects current clinical best practices and supports optimal patient outcomes.Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate degreeStrong commitment to providing high-quality customer serviceKnowledge of normal human growth and development across the lifespanAbility to read, understand, and interpret medical records and clinical documentationStrong skills in: Planning and organizationProblem solving and critical thinkingFollow-through and accountabilityStress management and adaptabilityAbility to apply logical and strategic thinking in a variety of clinical situationsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with healthcare teams, colleagues, and leadershipDemonstrated professionalism and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organizationAwareness of opportunities to support program growth and patient accessParticipation in professional organizations is preferredCompletion of all required system, department, and facility orientations and competenciesAdditional Requirement:May work in areas where medications are stored; no direct handling of medications is requiredLicensure, Certifications, and ClearancesPhysical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license (or eligibility with indirect supervision as applicable)CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA-compliant, including hands-on skills component) within 30 days of hireAct 33 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal)Act 34 Criminal Background Check (with renewal)Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
