Job description
Discover a rewarding contract opportunity for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant who thrives in a school-based setting. This position serves PreK through 3rd grade students, providing essential support to help each child reach their physical development milestones. Located near Evanston, IL, this part-time role spans 2-3 days per week and is available for an immediate start, running through June 11, 2027.
Essential Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Physical Therapy
Valid Illinois PTA licensure
Prior experience supporting physical therapy in a school-based environment is highly valued
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, teachers, and families
Adaptable, compassionate, and committed to enhancing student independence and participation
Key Responsibilities: Deliver goal-oriented physical therapy interventions to PreK-3rd grade students, both individually and in groups
Implement and follow individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with supervising physical therapists and educational staff
Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide input during IEP meetings
Engage with teachers and caregivers to promote generalization of skills and support a positive learning environment
