Overview
nDepartment:Inpatient Rehabilitation- Physical Therapy
nShifts Available: Variable
nEmployment Type:Per Diem (PRN)
nHours:8:00 am to 4:30 pm, 2 weekend days a month, and a Holiday rotation
nLocation:St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO
nAPhysical Therapist Assistant (PTA)plays a crucial role in healthcare by supporting physical therapists in delivering patient-centered care. PTAs work in various settings, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, or private practices. PTAs aid in improving patient mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent disabilities by executing rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s needs.
nResponsibilities
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
nnnExecute components of patient care, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like ultrasound or electrical stimulation, as directed by the physical therapist.
n
nnTeach patients and their families exercises to be continued at home, ensuring understanding and compliance to promote recovery.
n
nnObserve and document patient responses and progress toward goals, adjusting treatments as necessary and reporting back to the physical therapist.
n
nnWork closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each patient’s specific needs are met efficiently and effectively.
n
nnMaintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, schedule appointments, and ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations.
n
n nQualifications
nBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
nnnAn Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
n
nnCurrent state Physical Therapist Assistant license
n
nnCurrent BCLS (AHA) Certificate upon hire and maintain current
n
n nAdditional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
nnHealthcare experience preferred
