n nAs a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll contribute to our success in the following ways:
nnnPromotes Elara Caring's philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care
n
nnPerforms direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patient's physician to ensure quality and continuity of care.
n
nnFollows Plan of Care as established by Physical Therapist/being supervised by the Physical Therapist and immediate reporting of any changes in status back to Physical Therapist.
n
nnAdheres to the State Practice Act Guidelines.
n
nnVerifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provides care according to physician's orders, assessment data, and established standards and guidelines.
n
nnIncorporates patient care goals established in the Plan of Care, into therapy care.
n
nnInstructs patients and/or their families in the appropriate and safe use of prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.).
n
nnInstructs the patient and/or caregiver in the therapy home program
n
nnPhysically demanding, high stress environment
n
nnFull range of body motion including handling, lifting and transfer of patients
n
nnPotentially work irregular hours including call hours if applicable
n
n nWhat is Required?
nnnGraduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
n
nnCurrent, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
n
nn6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
n
nnAble and willing to travel within branch/office coverage area. The branch's service area includes cities like Dallas, Irving, Plano, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, and Richardson. The PTA's specific coverage area will be determined based on their location within the Metroplex.
n
nnMust have a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws.
n
nnMust be able and willing to travel 50%
n
nnAbility to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
n
n nYou will report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor or designee.
nThe pay for this position is $35.00 to $50.00 per hour, based on the company's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual pay will be determined based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and internal equity. Travel time between patient visits is compensated at the employee's hourly rate, and mileage reimbursement is provided.
