Job description
Physical Therapist AssistantProvides physical therapy treatment in accordance with the plan of care established by the physical therapist. Recommends changes in treatment plan to the supervising physical therapist based upon the patient's condition and response to treatment. Maintains work area in a neat, orderly fashion. Directs therapy volunteers. Performs clerical responsibilities as required by the facility.This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $3,500!Responsibilities:Actively participates in staff meetings, development programs, and committees.Supervises clinical support staff per the Physical Therapy Practice Act.Completes charge/statistical information accurately reflecting services rendered.Provides therapeutic interventions based on physical therapist-developed treatment programs for all age groups.Assists physical therapists in patient surveys within the scope of practice.Maintains comprehensive written/electronic documentation of clinical services.Rotates through treatment areas/facilities as needed.Provides objective feedback to supervisors on department performance and emergencies.Schedules to meet or exceed facility productivity standards.Implements treatment programs per physical therapist plans, adjusting as needed based on patient response and medical status.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association with an associates degree as a physical therapist assistant.Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer serviceOutpatient ortho experience, preferredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Physical Therapist Assistant OR Physical Therapist Assistant Indirect SupervisionAct 33Act 34Act 73 FBI ClearanceUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
