Job description
Exciting opportunity for a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting for the school year. This urgent backfill position supports student growth and mobility within a collaborative school environment. The contract begins as soon as possible and continues through June 21, 2027, with a commitment of just 6 hours per week-allowing you to balance your professional schedule with other commitments.
Key Qualifications:
Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure in Massachusetts
Previous PTA experience in school settings is highly preferred
Strong communication skills to consult and collaborate with educators, families, and care teams
Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs
Passion for working with children and supporting academic and developmental progress
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
Conduct therapeutic interventions and exercises tailored to individual student goals
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams regarding student care plans
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student support
Support students in improving physical function, mobility, and participation in school activities
