IBJI is looking for a dynamic physical therapist to work at our growing Mount Prospect location. This clinician will be responsible for working with a wide variety of clients and enjoy a primarily orthopedic caseload where physical therapists have the ancillary support to allow them to concentrate on their patients. Experience with hockey and overhead athletes preferred. The therapist will be coordinating with HPI trainers and their athletes on-site. IBJI rehab offers a wide range of special interest groups to learn and develop from your peers including sports medicine, foot & ankle group, manual therapy, vestibular/concussion rehab, performing arts. Innovative collaborative programs include orthosync and orthohealth.
Job summary: The position is under the general direction of the facility manager. The main focus of the position is on providing superior outpatient rehabilitation services through a collaborative care model with our physicians in order to optimize performance and enhance the quality of function for our patients.
Responsibilities include exceptional patient care, interpreting physician orders, performing initial evaluations and establishing treatment plans and functional goals, responsible for upgrading and amending the treatment goals as necessary during the episode of care, written documentation on patient status to physicians per compliance guidelines of IBJI rehab, determine appropriate discharge timeline and appropriate follow up, supervision of rehabilitation technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed, compliance with daily paperwork, stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices, maintains active state license by earning appropriate CEUs through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities, develops positive relationships with the physician teams at IBJI, takes an active role in the patient medial team, participates in programs sponsored by IBJI.
Requirements include graduate from accredited physical therapy program, licensed or eligible to sit for boards in the state of Illinois, ability to work in a fast paced environment, professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills, ability to lift greater than 25 pounds, demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing, ability to be stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes, ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day.
