Job description

Job Details

This pediatric outpatient Physical Therapist position is located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, a thriving northwest suburb of Chicago known for its safe, family-centered neighborhoods and strong sense of community. Buffalo Grove offers a high quality of life with excellent schools, abundant parks, and well-maintained paths and green spaces that make it easy to enjoy the outdoors year-round. Residents appreciate the balance of a peaceful suburban environment with convenient access to Chicago's cultural, dining, and entertainment offerings, all within a reasonable drive or train ride. The clinic is a dedicated pediatric outpatient setting focused on serving children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental, neurologic, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal needs. You will join a collaborative team of pediatric specialists who value evidence-based practice, shared learning, and coordinated care. The environment is designed to be engaging and child-friendly, with treatment areas that support play-based interventions, gross motor activities, and functional skill development. As a Pediatric Physical Therapist in this role, you will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy services tailored to each child's goals. Your caseload may include children with developmental delays, coordination disorders, cerebral palsy, post-surgical orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and other pediatric diagnoses. You will regularly collaborate with families and caregivers to provide education, home programs, and strategies that support carryover of progress into everyday routines.Your typical day will include scheduled one-on-one treatment sessions, periodic re-evaluations, interdisciplinary team discussions, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Patient visits are primarily scheduled during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, providing a predictable schedule and work-life balance with no evenings or weekends. Patient volume is managed to support high-quality, individualized care and meaningful family education, rather than short, high-turnover encounters. You will have the opportunity to work closely with other pediatric therapists and healthcare professionals, participate in case conferences, and contribute to program development for specialized populations or age groups. The clinic emphasizes continuous professional growth, with access to mentorship from experienced pediatric clinicians and opportunities to refine specialty skills within pediatrics.Buffalo Grove's community amenities complement this role, with numerous parks, playgrounds, and recreation areas that provide ideal settings for practicing and generalizing functional mobility skills outside of the clinic. The suburb's family-friendly atmosphere aligns naturally with pediatric practice, and the area's stability and strong local schools make it attractive if you are looking for a long-term professional home.
