Job Summary
nThe Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation for children and adults as prescribed by a referring physician. This role establishes individualized physical therapy goals, provides treatments, and regularly reassesses patient progress, documenting all findings accurately.
nEssential Functions
nnnConducts thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs and develops individualized treatment plans across diverse patient populations.
n
nnAdministers safe and effective therapy treatments, ensuring all interventions are appropriately documented.
n
nnReassesses and adjusts treatment plans within appropriate timeframes to align with patient progress and changing needs.
n
nnProvides clear, concise, and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
n
nnEducates patients and their families on treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and post-treatment care to support long-term recovery.
n
nnOperates therapy equipment safely and maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
n
nnCollaborates with referring physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
n
nnDemonstrates population-appropriate competencies for all relevant patient demographics, tailoring care to individual needs.
n
nnMaintains compliance with facility policies, including safety, infection control, and risk management procedures.
n
nnAdapts to changes professionally and effectively, following the chain of command to address and resolve issues impacting patient care.
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned.
n
nnMaintains regular and reliable attendance.
n
nnComplies with all policies and standards.
n
n nQualifications
nnnBachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required
n
nn0-2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required
n
n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
nnnStrong knowledge of physical therapy principles, therapeutic techniques, and safety standards.
n
nnAbility to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.
n
nnProficiency in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing.
n
nnExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
n
nnStrong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity.
n
nnCommitment to professional development and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
n
n nLicenses and Certifications
nnnPT - Physical Therapist license in the state of employment required
n
nnBLS - Basic Life Support obtained within 30 days of hire required
