Job description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity to make a difference in students' lives as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Your skills in school-based physical therapy will help students thrive in their learning environments. As part of a supportive educational community, you'll deliver hands-on therapy, help tailor individualized plans, and play an integral role in students' growth.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Texas
Previous experience in a school setting or strong interest in pediatric/school-based therapy
Thorough understanding of IEP (Individualized Education Program) processes
Strong communication and recordkeeping abilities
Compassion, patience, and a talent for working with children and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities: Provide direct physical therapy services to students, both individually and in groups
Assess and document students' functional abilities and develop progress reports
Collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to integrate goals into students' daily routines
Support the creation and implementation of IEPs, contributing to meetings as needed
Educate staff and parents on strategies to enhance students' physical participation at school
Adapt therapy goals as students grow, ensuring progress and engagement
