Job description

Physical Therapy TechnicianThe PT Tech assists with restoration of guest functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability under the direct supervision of the staff physical therapist. Assist guests to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning. Perform clerical duties, assist with posting of guest charges, participate in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and all safety programs.Essential FunctionsPromote the mission, vision, and values of the organizationResponsible for providing specific treatment only as directed by the staff physical therapist.Ability to monitor vital signsCommunicate any changes in condition to staff physical therapist or other facility personnel as appropriateManage and operate equipment safely and correctlyInteract professionally with guests/family and involves them in the formation of the plan of carePrepare and clean treatment area for guest use. Perform final cleaning at close of dayRecord treatment/service revisions in accordance with department policyDemonstrate ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situationPerform other duties as assignedProfessional RequirementsAdhere to dress codeComplete annual education requirements.Maintain guest confidentiality at all times.Report to work on time and as scheduled.Wear identification while on duty.Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hireStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitudeAbility to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of workAbility to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal informationAbility to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely mannerAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingPushing and pulling heavy objectsPosition requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
