Job description

Part Time Physical Therapist

The Part Time Physical Therapist will be responsible for providing PT evaluation on individuals annually in areas of muscle tone and/or strength, range of motion, reflex patterns, gross motor capacity, posture and joint alignment, patterns of locomotion and/or ambulation, activities of daily living.

Schedule: 10 hours weekly - must be able to provide a consistent schedule within school hours, between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday

Essential Duties of Physical Therapist Part-Time

Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Physical Therapist (PT) will:

Develop a treatment plan and goal based on assessment

Select educational, recreational and social activities in order to aid consumers in adjusting to their disability

Teach adaptive skills necessary to perform daily living and/or vocational tasks

Participate in in-service education for other patient care personnel relevant to techniques and objectives of the program

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each program

Integrate therapeutic intervention techniques into programs or home of person served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff at team meetings, case conferences or through other informal contacts

Document therapy activities and results on consumers' records, assist in overall evaluation and rehabilitation of consumers' medical/psychiatric condition by conferring with social workers, nurses and other clinical staff

Record progress on all active cases in therapy, monitors therapy status, and makes appropriate recommendations as changes occur

Perform other duties, as needed

Supports overall strategic plan of the organization

Essential Qualifications of Physical Therapist Part-Time

Key qualifications include:

Master's Degree in Physical Therapy

Current NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license

Good oral and written communication skills

Emotional intelligence

Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs

Physical/Travel Requirements of Physical Therapist Part-Time

Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, kneel, and lifts weights of up to 30lbs.

Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.
