Join Mercy and Make a Difference Every DayMercy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Springfield, Missouri. In this role, you'll work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to help patients regain mobility, improve function, and achieve their rehabilitation goals in a supportive, patient-centered environment.As a PTA, you will provide high-quality physical therapy treatments, monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and contribute to exceptional patient care while ensuring safety and dignity for every individual served.What You'll DoImplement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.Perform therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and mobility activities.Administer modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot and cold packs, and whirlpool treatments.Assist with wound care procedures while adhering to sterile technique and safety protocols.Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate changes promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist.Document patient progress accurately and timely in accordance with department standards.Assess and respond to patient pain management needs during treatment sessions.Provide age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatric populations.Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.Provide guidance and technical assistance to Physical Therapy Aides as directed.Identify and report patient safety concerns and support Mercy's commitment to quality care.QualificationsRequired EducationAssociate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant programRequired LicensureCurrent Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice, or state-authorized temporary permit/license where applicableRequired CertificationBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare ProvidersExperienceEntry-level candidates are encouraged to applyWhat We're Looking ForSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:Strong clinical and patient care skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesCommitment to patient safety and quality outcomesSound judgment, professionalism, and dependabilityAbility to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgroundsCompassionate, respectful, and patient-focused care deliveryWhy Mercy?At Mercy, we believe exceptional care begins with exceptional people.
