Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Total Rehab Care team. Under the direction and supervision of licensed Physical Therapists, you will provide hands-on treatment and follow-up care to patients across the lifespan—from newborns to geriatric populations. Your work will play a critical role in helping patients achieve their highest possible level of function and independence.This position is ideal for a PTA who values teamwork, patient-centered care, and professional growth within a collaborative rehab environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct patient care in accordance with the Physical Therapist's established plan of care and Maryland licensure guidelinesAdminister therapeutic interventions, monitor patient status, and report changes requiring reassessmentCollect objective data and document patient progress accurately and timelyAssist with discharge planning, referrals, and coordination of continuing careEducate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, exercises, and equipment useCollaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary rehab team membersParticipate in case conferences and team meetingsSupervise and mentor aides, students, observers, and volunteers as assignedQualifications:Education:Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant programAssociate of Arts degree requiredLicensure & Certification:Active Maryland Physical Therapy Assistant license or temporary Maryland license pending state board examination or reciprocityCurrent BLS/CPR certification requiredExperience:No prior clinical experience required beyond educational trainingAbility to perform all job functions independently after initial orientation periodSkills & Abilities:Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to learn and use electronic medical records and point-of-care documentation systemsComfortable working with diverse patient populations and care needsPhysical & Work Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and assist patients throughout the workdayMay be required to lift or transfer patients and equipmentExposure to blood and bodily fluids and typical healthcare clinical environmentsWhy Join Us?Work with a supportive and experienced rehab teamServe patients across a wide range of ages and conditionsOpportunities for mentorship and professional developmentMeaningful work that directly impacts patient recovery and quality of lifeCaring for Our Team We offer a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees' well-being and professional growth.
