Job description
Staff Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)Staff Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist in accordance with the patients' plan of care. The physical therapy assistant will screen patients, educate patient and family, utilize exercises and physical therapy modalities in the treatment and rehabilitative of persons who have medical problems, health related conditions, or a developmental disability that limits their ability to move or perform functional activities. Some travel may be required in the provision of services between facilities and job functions. This position summary contains the most relevant duties, responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.Qualifications:Must be able to travel to STHS facilities as neededMembership in professional organization preferredMust demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.Education / Licensure:Licensure in the State of Texas as Physical Therapist Assistant, or has a valid temporary Physical Therapist Assistant for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license.Clinical experience preferredMust have and maintain current BCLS certification, according to unit specific needs.
