Job Description
Title: Physical Therapist Assistant - Rehabilitation
Schedule: Days 5x8
Assignment Details:
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current PTA license in the state of practice.
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Carry out physical therapy treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist to address residents' mobility and functional needs.
- Deliver direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities, in a safe and effective manner.
- Observe and report resident responses to interventions, including progress and changes in condition, to the supervising PT.
- Assist with resident assessments and contribute to documentation and care planning as appropriate.
- Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and techniques to promote safety and carryover outside therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record system.
Compliance / Notes:
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain licensure and continuing education requirements.
