Position SummaryProvides excellent customer service related to scheduling patient care. Serves as an effective liaison for communication between patients and staff.Essential Functions Statement(s)Schedules appointments related to physical therapy (walk-in and via phone)Manages phone system and assists Physical Therapist in taking messagesGreets visitors and patients to determine their needs and directs them accordinglyAdministers and enters patient intake formsCommunicates with patients regarding insurance coverage and financial responsibilityCollects co-pay, co-insurance and other balances owed on accountPrints billing slip for Physical Therapist to mark services performedSchedules follow-up appointments and cancels patient appointments due to no showEnters charges and reconciles paymentsManages buckets in Athena and ensures that claims are in drop status at charge entryMaintains cash drawer for making changes and balances it dailyVerifies that all billing slips are submitted at the end of the dayServes as a liaison between the Business Office and Physical Therapy to ensure eligibility and Patient benefits are obtained before patient appointmentPerforms others tasks as assignedSkills & AbilitiesEducation: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): RequiredExperience: Previous experience in the operations of a physical therapy office is preferred.Computer Skills: Must be computer literate.
